Kenlee Park Winchester Gold |
AKA Winchester
I took on Winchester with the sole purpose of making the move from being my husbands and children's strapper covered in black horse makeup to the winners circle of beating my other half in the performance ring. With my horse training skills getting a work out and completing a full year of competing in performance with Winchester we have had to make the decision of moving winchester on. A very sad sale however with a growing halter show team of nine and me not being able to be in two rings at once I have no other option. With months of daily training to teach Winchester to be caught with ease, to trot beside me without him thinking I was chasing him and to stand patiently while being clipped and rugged he was ready to start his jumping and trail training. I have never had a horse that is constantly looking for the right answers and when he gets them he never forgets. This has made him a very quick learner with push button movement and the capacity to keep on learning so much more. In the correct hands he will win National performance titles. Winchester has improved at every outing with a highlight winning Vic 2011 State Champion IMHR Miniature Performance Horse. Both my girls have taken him in their Showmanship, handler and Youth performance classes with great success. Lunges beautifully and trails with purpose and confidence. His jumping is improving each time he performs and he has never given a performance that has been less quality than the last. If he keeps doing this he will be hard to beat. Winchester has correct confirmation, good bite and clean legs however he was not blessed with the looks that is needed to be successful in the halter ring. While he may go ok at local shows we would prefer if he just didn't compete in any halter classes. Youth, handler and showmanship classes are fine and he is well suited to these. He is an exceptional older youth or adults performance horse and will only keep getting better. He stands quietly and patently while tied to the float all day at a show and while in the line up of a class. He is perfect to load and does not go silly at shows calling out to other horses. He is always waiting to see how he can please you next. When clipping you can use your little finger to hold up a leg, he will remain soft and supply and he will go on voice commands. Actually my daughter was holding him for me while she was sitting in the green grass and sunshine, letting Winchester have a little pick while I was lunging her horse. As I was giving her horse voice commands to walk on Winchester began to walk around my daughter. When I asked her horse to trot on, so to did Winchester. A brilliant animal! Being a cream Palomino, he has the whitest most luxurious mane and tail with kind eyes. Winchester is a very sensitive horse and requires very light hands with minimal pressure both physical and mental pressure. As we would like to see him continue on with his performance career he will only be sold to a handler who can demonstrate their ability to maintain his successful performances.
